The Best Cities for Meeting the Bes

Want an engagement ring on your finger by next year? Maybe a change of location is just what you need.

Newsflash: some cities are just not as ripe for soul mate searching as others.

Meeting your future husband can be as mundane as dropping a dime on the street, or it can be as romantic as a fairy tale.

Either way, the point is to meet the guy, right?

Simply put, some cities in the world are better than others for meeting people.

What makes a city seriously date-worthy?

The Daily Beast broke it down into a few categories:

The city had to be urban (suburban cities tend to have more married couples than single people). What makes a city urban in their eyes? More than 500,000 people.

What makes someone an eligible bachelor? Single, and 18 to 49 years old. (Just before the mid-life crisis, evidently.)

To further build on the term eligible, men with four-year college degrees were evaluated more heavily , because, as the saying goes, the more education you have, the higher your salary.

Finally, how do you measure where to meet these oh so eligible bachelors?
Weight was placed on cities the highest density, per capita, of places like bars, clubs, theaters and gyms.

Take a look to see if you`re lucky enough to be living in one of these fantastic cities! (Note: This is just a top five list. It means nothing if your city isn't listed here.)

Number One: Altanta, Georgia

Southern charm and good food have helped make this a hub of coolness and culture. It also doesn`t hurt that it has the nation's fourth-largest concentration of Fortune 500 companies.

Number Two: Boston, Massachusetts

The sheer volume of colleges and universities alone make this city a wonderful option for students who are looking for the right mate.

Number Three:  Seattle, Washington

Two words for you: Microsoft and Boeing.

Number Four: San Francisco, California

Two more words for you: Google and Facebook.

(Not to mention, San Francisco's diversity and allure make it one of the most interesting places to live in the world).

Number Five: Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota

Don`t let the cold weather fool you. The twin cities are chalking up a reputation for great guys that can keep you warm at night at the same time.
