Anniversary Ideas on a Budget!

Tired of the same old dinner and drinks for your anniversary? Fall in love all over again with these three creative anniversary ideas that won’t break the bank.

1. Recreate Your First Date

Ah first dates… A day when nerves, excitement and anticipation run amok. Don’t you wish you could zap yourself back in time and enjoy it all over again? Well, with a bit of planning, you can! Did you go see a movie on your first date? Set up a mini theater in your home and watch it on DVD (or VHS if you’ve been together a while). Extra points if you add in popcorn, soda and of course, Junior Mints.

2. Watch Your Wedding Video

Question: How many people have wedding videos? Answer: Everyone. Question: How many people actually watch their wedding videos? Answer: No one. Most couples spend a pretty penny on recording their wedding day and never get around to watching it. Don’t be one of those couples. Bust out the champagne and relive your special day. You’ll be surprised by how much fun it can be!

3. Break the Routine

Newsflash: quotidian life is boring. Birthdays, holidays and anniversaries spice things up, but not if you make each year a repeat of the last.  Break your routine by doing something different. Are you a homebody? Take a hike through a local park, complete with picnic food and a blanket to boot. Are you constantly on the move? Couples massages can do wonders for relaxation. Breaking your routine is invigorating and opens up a whole new world of possibility.
